This short is influenced by Hitchcock’s Rebecca (1940), Beckett’s
35mm Film and The Spiral Staircase by Siodmak (1945). It
also makes reference to ongoing interests in the artists practice: the relationship
between the mother and daughter, and the gap left for the viewer created by
the slippage between image and sound.
